Adding some Trellis to support the big buds!
Defoliating (Lollipopping) Cannabis Plants
Defoliating/Lollipopping one week before Flowering
In this video, we are defoliating the plants in our A-Tent about one week before we want to set them to Flower.
Got the labels for the Apple Sundae Pre-Rolls
Crop switched to Flower 23 days ago
Here is one of our Harvesting Tents, it's been flowering for 23 days. The buds are coming along nicely! We feed these every other day, we have a total of six plants in this tent and it will flower for a total of 8 weeks (56 days). We added the trellis (the white plastic string squares) about three days ago, we'll probably need to add one or two more levels of trellis in the coming weeks to keep the buds from laying on one another. We do this to keep some spacing for good air flow and so that they each get proper exposer to the light. Questions? Leave a comment below!
Staging Tent we use to grow early stage plants from 6 inches tall to two feet
Staging Tent for Early stage plants
We select the best 6 clones and replant them in 3 gallon fabric buckets. We are growing in a Coco medium because we've found it's way more forgiving. We'll grow these to just over two feet and then move them to their final home in one of the larger tents. These are our 'Ladies in Waiting' we'll vegetate them and get them as big as possible until one of the larger tents is harvested and cleaned out. We keep everything as clean as possible, we can't emphasize that enough!
The best formula we've found for feeding is a mixture of CaliMagic (by General Hydroponics), Silica Platinum Series (by CYCO), RegenaRoot, Sensi Coco Grow Part A and Sensi Coco Grow Part B. We use the Sensi Grow products because then we don't have to worry about the PH levels. The lights are on for 18 hours a day, we are using a pump system to water, it's much easier. We water only when the Coco is dry, every two days when they are bigger, every three or four days when they are small. The tent is about 70 to 74 degrees and we don't want too much moisture, it will cause mold. If the sides of the tent are wet, open it up a bit and let it dry out.
RAW Cones, our favorite!
Yes, we use RAW CONES.
They are kind of our go to rolling cone. We love the quality we haven't tried their new packing tool just yet although after rolling 100 the other day we're thinking about it. After we harvest, we always end up with lots of loose bud, that's just the way it goes. Turns out all that loose bud is super convenient to make prerolls with, it's a bit of effort but as Tony the Tiger says "Their Great!" (does he say that anymore or is he dead?)
Cutting the dried buds off of the stems
We had 10 pounds of wet Cannabis right after we Harvested it from them plants. After drying on the rack for about 10 days it yielded 2.5 pounds. In the video above we are cutting the dried buds off the stems. We'll take those buds and put them in large glass jars that are air tight for storage.
Check to see if the buds 'snap' or bend off the stem. If they snap when you bend them then they are ready to cut off the stems.
In the video above we are checking to see if the buds are dry enough to cut from the stems. We start checking them about seven days after hanging them on the drying rack. We check them by bending the buds. If they snap when you bend them they are ready to cut from the stems. It depends on the climate but we've found it takes from one to two weeks to dry.
How much Cannabis comes from 6 Plants?
This Harvest is six plants shown here on the drying rack
We harvested 6 Plants shown above hanging on the drying rack. That's about 10 pounds 'wet' which dried to about 2.5 pounds. Really it's going to depend on what strain you're growing, how large the plants are when you harvest, what your feeding your plants, and well probably 50 other factors.
For the harvest your seeing here drying on our rack, we did 2 East Coast Sour Diesel and 4 Grease Monkey. Now in retrospect that was kind of a mistake. We should have planted all the same strain. Why? Because we are using a pump systems to feed our plants and we found that we needed to adjust the feed slightly for the East Coast Sour Diesel, those two wanted a bit more Calcium and Magnesium than the Grease Monkeys. We use a product called CaliMagic by General Hydroponics as a supplement. Now this of course was a pain in the ass because of the pump system, so we had to add the supplement by hand for a few weeks.
